A World Class Challenge
…40 teams from around world will be competing in this year’s bigger and better Abu Dhabi Adventure Challenge.
Not really, but we found a short article about the race in the “Etihad In Flight” magazine:
We’re in the air on our way to JFK. We have a 4 hour layover before the 13 hour flight to Abu Dhabi.
The team made final preparations this past weekend, checking, and re-checking gear lists, extra items, and everything else. We paused for a quick moment to take a few photos of us outfitted in our snazzy desert atire.

Checkpoint Zero will be manning a TA on the course. We’ll be serving up hot soup to what are sure to be frozen racers.
Contrary to some experiences that have left a bad taste in my mouth, today I have learned that customer service is not dead.

Having never raced in the desert before, I’ve little to no experience with racing in the sand. Sure, the creeks around Atlanta are filled with sand, and I’ve run through plenty of those, but there’s a big difference between running for an hour, and going for a couple days.
